This policy explains what information Afghan Bazar collects when you use the app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Afghan Bazar is a classifieds marketplace where people post and find listings for items, vehicles, property, services and more.
When you create an account we store your name, your email address, your password in a securely hashed form and, if you add one, your phone number. When you post a listing we store its title, description, photos, price, category, condition details and the province and city you choose. We also store the messages, comments and reviews you send through the app.
We record basic technical data such as your device and browser type, your app language and appearance settings, the listings you view and the number of views each listing receives. Your login session, language and theme choice are kept in your browser local storage.
If you allow it, we use your device approximate location to sort listings by distance (nearest first). You can refuse this and choose your province and city by hand. Your coordinates are only saved on listings you publish, so that buyers can find items near them.
To run the marketplace: to publish your listings, to connect buyers and sellers through in-app messages, to send you notifications about new messages, about a listing being approved or rejected and about saved search matches, to review listings and remove anything that breaks our rules, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to answer your support requests.
Your listings, comments and reviews are public, and they show your display name and, if you entered it on the listing, your phone number. Your profile shows how long you have been a member, your rating and reviews, and your active listings. Private messages between you and another user are visible only to the two of you, and to our team when moderation requires it.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that host and run the platform, and with the authorities where the law requires it.
We email you to verify your account, to reset your password and, if you turn them on, to tell you about new messages and saved search matches. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app and in your device settings.
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account from Settings, which permanently removes your account, listings, messages, favourites, saved searches and notifications. We may keep limited records, such as reports or moderation decisions, where we need them to prevent abuse or to meet a legal obligation.
You can edit your profile, delete your listings, manage your saved searches and turn notifications off at any time. To ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or its deletion, contact us from the Contact page in the app.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No online service is completely secure, so keep your password private and contact us if you notice anything suspicious on your account.
Afghan Bazar is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and continued use of the app means you accept it.
